Today’s march includes many people from the Bronx and upper Manhattan; which were hit hardest by the recent recession. Many from these communities feel as though opportunities for economic advancement have been stagnant for some time, and they are working in conjunction with the Occupy movement, to have their voices heard.

The protesters are currently making the 11 mile trek from Washington Heights to Zuccotti park. Many elected officials have also joined in on today’s protest.  The protest has been reported to be peaceful, and demonstrators are walking on the sidewalk, being accompanied by the NYPD.
